Bio
Canadian portfolio artist and Soprano Stephanie Sedlbauer (She/Her) is known for her flexibility of vocal style and powerful stage presence. Graduating with a GDP, and MMus from McGill’s Schulich school of music, some of her past operatic roles include Vitellia (La Clemenza di Tito), Mrs. Maurrant (Street Scene), and Elle ( La Voix Humane).
Passionate about exploring the innovative potential of opera, and reaching broader audiences, Stephanie recently participated in A Good Mess Opera Theatre’s online musical haunted house, A Good Haunting Vol.2. She is also a recipient of the 2022 Jacqueline Desmarais grant, was an Opera-Fellow at SSMF Opera Fest 2022, one of the 2020 Coopérathon Open-innovation challenge winners with Opéra de Montréal. She also sings rock, jazz, and musical theatre, and enjoys influencing her operatic work with other styles and genres.
Off stage, her portrait and production photography can be found in publications such as Opera Canada magazine, Footwear Plus Magazine, and La Scena Musicale. Stephanie’s portfolio also includes directing, teaching voice, admin, design, and work in the video game industry. Most recently, Stephanie returned to Opera McGill as production stage manager for their 2022 New Works Binge Festival.
Stephanie is excited to begin this chapter with the M3F team, and to continue creating incredible music in the city of Montreal.
